How to order an LED adapter in the DentalMonitoring app
Several new smartphone models cannot use the ScanBox Pro included in each Oliv aligner kit without an LED adapter due to the placement of their rear-facing cameras and lights. The ScanBox Pro depends on a smartphone’s flashlight fitting within the grey cheek retractor tube. However, on some newer phones, the light is too far from the lens, requiring an LED adapter to provide light inside the tube for precise scans.

Patients' first DentalMonitoring scan
We recommend completing the first DentalMonitoring scan in the office with the practice team whenever possible.
If an LED adapter is required for scanning but not available, you can use the following workflow.
First, deactivate the LED adapter experience under the Profile tab. Tap LED ADAPTER EXPERIENCE.
Then, tap USE THE LED ADAPTER to the off position. The switch should appear grey.
Remember to turn the LED ADAPTER EXPERIENCE back to the on position for future scans once an LED adapter is available.
A DentalMonitoring scan can be completed without an LED adapter by following the directions in this video.
How to order an LED adapter in the DentalMonitoring app
Patients can order one LED Adapter free of charge in the DentalMonitoring app after account activation.
Availability and ordering workflows for LED adapters will change as we continue to improve support for new phone models and configurations.
How to use the LED adapter with your ScanBox Pro
The LED adapter is designed for simple setup and use. During initial use of the DentalMonitoring app, it will notify patients if an LED adapter is required and provide clear video instructions for ordering or attaching it to the ScanBox Pro.
